Phasecraft awarded two contracts from the UK Government’s Quantum Catalyst Fund

Bristol, London, 19th October 2023: We are delighted to announce another exciting development at Phasecraft, having been awarded two contracts under the UK government’s Quantum Catalyst Fund, a Small Business Research Initiative (SBRI) competition funded by the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT) and Innovate UK.

Through its two phases, the fund will award up to £15 million to UK teams working on quantum technologies innovation in areas of interest for the UK Government, and is an important step to accelerate the adoption of quantum technologies throughout the public sector.

At Phasecraft, we believe quantum computing has the potential to enable innovation in a number sectors, from transport and communications to clean energy and more. Through the Quantum Catalyst Fund, the UK government demonstrates that it shares this belief.

The two projects we have been awarded funding for will see us work with the Department of Energy Security and Net Zero, the Department for Transport and the National Quantum Computing Centre to explore how quantum computing can be used to solve optimisation problems in energy grids, and the how it can enable clean energy innovation through the discovery of new materials.

This comes at an exciting time for Phasecraft following our recent Series A funding round and is a testament to our expertise and our mission to be one of the first to reach practical quantum advantage. We’re excited to continue to pioneer the quantum frontier and push the boundaries of what is possible in this industry.
